We’re 26 days away from the 2018 Rental Show! On February 19th, everything will be live in New Orleans. We are excited to display our latest products along with some updated classics. Once at the show it can be challenging to see everything in our booth and to understand how each product works. In an attempt to highlight our newest and most popular products, we will be blogging about them periodically over the next 30 days. The blog posts will be featured on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The hope is that you will find products that make your rental store more profitable and more efficient.
Who is Granite Industries?
Granite Industries Inc. is a manufacturing company founded in 1997 by Steve Wyse. Steve propelled Granite to the top of the scaffold industry with 43 years of scaffolding experience. We are headquartered in Ohio and have warehouses around the country. In addition to scaffold, Granite is a leader in staging, bleachers, carts and fencing products. Granite Industries has two primary brands under its company umbrella; American Cart hand trucks and Overland Carts electric powered wheelbarrows. All three of these brands will be at the 2018 ARA Rental Show in the Granite Industries booth.
Introducing the Granite Snappy Utility Scaffold
The Snappy Utility Scaffold was one of the first Granite Exclusive products to come to market. It will be a featured at the 2018 ARA Rental Show. The Snappy Utility Scaffold is set apart from competitors by its safety features. The most recognizable feature being the “Snappy” G pin operation. The photo below shows a close-up of the G-pin. The G-pin allows the scaffold height to be easily adjusted by one person. Adjustment holes are provided every two inches allowing for precise height control. Additional safety features can be found in the quad hold down clips. These patented clips secure the floorboard in place.

The G-pin featured above significantly improves the usability of the utility scaffold. It is much easier to grasp than some of the smaller pin systems on the market. The arm brace is rounded and makes gripping and pulling the pin a safe and easy maneuver. Other scaffolding often has flat steel bar braces that make gripping the pin a challenge. Each arm brace has an additional snap pin location under the G-pin to further secure the brace in place. Adjusting the height on a Snappy Utility Scaffold is quick and easy.
This spring loaded hold down clips are a patented safety technology. There are four of these clips, two on each side of the walkboard. They work with the alignment pins to create an extremely safe and secure work environment. The walkboard is protected from moving horizontally by the frame and alignment pins, and is protected from moving vertically by the spring loaded clips. This is another example where Granite has found a way to improve safety AND usability. The hold down clips can be easily snapped in to place by hand.
The Snappy is designed to operate on surfaces even when they aren’t level. The 2″ adjustments provide ample room to create the ideal height at any job site. Simply remove the casters and find four solid foundation points. Adjust the walk board to the desired height and work away.
For an even more secure work environment, we recommend our guardrail set. This set features a guardrail that surrounds the entire scaffold and also includes necessary toe boards. Workers who feel safer work faster. The toe boards help keep items from falling off the scaffolding and meet OSHA codes for scaffolding.
Looking to raise the bar? The Double Snappy is a fantastic choice. The package includes two Snappy single units plus a guardrail and toe board. Also included is a set of four outriggers with casters. This creates an OSHA compliant double utility scaffold out of the box. If the job no long requires a double scaffold, then the units can be broke down and there are two individual units ready to go. Final dimensions are: 53″W x 15’H x 6’L.
Our tallest unit is the Triple Snappy Package. It includes three Snappy single units along with one guardrail set with toe boards. Also included is a set of four outriggers with casters. This creates an OSHA compliant triple utility scaffold out of the box. Like the Double Scaffold, the Triple Scaffold can be broke down into individual units. Final Dimensions: 53″W x 22’H x 6’L

What’s the Rental Show?
The ARA Rental Show features some of the biggest and best brands in the rental industry. The attendees are generally owners or employees of rental stores within the United States and Canada. Granite Industries has attended the ARA Rental Show every year since we were founded in 1997. We love meeting the attendees and hearing feedback on our products. Each year we are more and more impressed with the experience of the show. This year the show is in New Orleans, which is a favorite location of the Granite staff.
